An Evening with Norman Bodek (aka the “Godfather of Lean”)

In 1988, Norman Bodek (aka the “Godfather of Lean”) published the original translation of Taiichi Ohno’s Toyota Production System: Beyond Large-Scale Production. This book was in-part responsible to bringing lean to the West. Norman has travelled to Japan over 80 times, visited more than 250 plants, and published over 250 management books. Norman Bodek continues his discoveries as a teacher, consultant, author and publisher. He founded Productivity Press in 1979 and is currently President of PCS Press.

About the Movie

The Goal Movie (2002) shares the story of Alex Rogo from Eliyahu Goldratt’s business novel, The Goal (1984), where a manager learns to run a company efficiently using Theory of Constraints (bottlenecks, throughput, and flow balancing) to transform his mediocre division into a money-making machine through a rapid and reliable operations entity.
